Rain Check

Verse 1

My brother said "next Christmas," my dad said "next year"My friends said "next weekend, we'll get a beer"And you said "let's go to Paris when the time is right"So I bought a little phrasebook, and I studied every night

Pre-Chorus

And I keep them in a drawerWith the batteries and stringEvery rain check anybody ever gave meEvery maybe, every someday thing

Chorus

I've got a drawer full of rain checksFrom everyone I loveIt's the biggest drawer in the kitchenAnd it's almost full enoughTo finally close itBut it won't, it won't closeI've got a drawer full of rain checksAnd it never even rains

And I keep them in a drawerWith the batteries and stringEvery rain check anybody ever gave meEvery maybe, every someday thing
